At The Joslin School, our vision is to elevate community through education and opportunity; to radically transform poverty into empowerment. Our core values include the four C's: Compassion, Creativity, Collaboration and CommUNITY. We believe that "in love, we rise."

OUR VALUES

COMPASSION
A wise teacher once shared - Love others as yourself. We often think that self-love is narcissistic and self-absorbed – a ‘bad’ thing. In our travels, as a person learns to appreciate their own body, mind, spirit while honoring their gifts AND challenges, they are able to offer a more holistic compassionate love to self AND others.

CREATIVITY
We commit to optimizing innate resourcefulness, instilling empowerment through inspiration, education, and exposure to a variety of opportunities in order for each student to reveal their own unique gifts and talents.

COLLABORATION
We will model the honoring of self and others. We will create an environment to challenge students to work together to create elevated results. We will encourage collaboration through group problem solving, creative projects, and sustainability initiatives.

CommUNITY

Our Community evolves as we create more connections.  We believe in the way of Ubuntu - 'You are because we are.  We are because you are.'  Simply put, we rise.  Together.

Long Term Vision & Initiatives

Operations

We have an intention to ensure that The Joslin School will be self-sustainable in 5 years. This means that it will supply its own resources and funding and will not need any donors from outside sources to operate its mission.  However, we intend to continue the discovery of further global partnerships and initiatives.

Academics

In 2023, The Joslin School grew to 65 students.  As we plan for 2024, we anticipate more students to join our school, as well as two new teachers.  We plan to travel to Kenya with a small team to continue to magical collaboration!

Health & Wellness

Mind, Body, Spirit in collaboration – offering holistic health education and resources from a paradigm that the body can heal itself as it is given good nutrition, healthy mindset, and alternative modes of health care such as chiropractic, massage and acupuncture.

Community

Workshops will be cooperatively offered to bring men and women together to discuss gender and relationship challenges and outside-the-box, heart centered solutions to strengthen relationships

Empowering Women

Implementation of initiatives to support young women as they need supplies for menstruation as well as instruction on how to honor their bodies in a healthy mindset in regard to relationships. We will offer young men similar support in how to honor their bodies when it comes to relationships.
